High School, Special Education Teacher
Montclair Kimberley Academy, an innovative Pre-K–12 independent day school with a strong national reputation, seeks a full-time History and English teacher. The successful candidate will join MKA at an exciting time of growth in our facilities, teach a full course load (split between History and English courses), and advise a small number of students.

Qualified Candidates will meet the following criteria:
- A Bachelor's degree in history, English, or a related field -- MA preferred;
- Experience teaching high school students;
- Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills;
- Willingness to work as a collaborative member of each department and to teach a range of classes.
The successful candidate will:
- Demonstrate commitment to student writing and research;
- Invest in our commitment to multicultural education by teaching texts and introducing units that
- examine race, gender, class, sexual orientation, and religion;
- Use a range of instructional strategies to implement a student-centered approach;
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with varying learning styles and levels of ability;
- Share an enthusiasm for innovation in curriculum, assessment, teaching methods, and technology
- integration;
- Demonstrate strong interest in working with students in and outside the classroom;
- Commit to ongoing growth and development as a teacher and collaboration with colleagues;
- Help cultivate a culture of student reading outside the classroom.

The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $100,000. Final compensation will be determined based on teaching experience.
