Lift Maintenance Apprentice

Overview

Big Sky Resort is looking for a self‑starter who enjoys working with their hands and is eager to learn. This is a seasonal summer position, but for the right candidate, it has the potential to become a full‑time, year‑round role within our Lift Maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in ski lift mechanics while assisting in preparing, maintaining, and fine‑tuning lifts for the winter season.

• Be an active part of the Lift Maintenance team, following direction and assisting experienced mechanics with inspections, repairs, and upkeep of aerial and surface lifts.
• Stand and sit for long periods, work at variable heights (15–70 ft above ground), use ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude, especially in high‑stress situations, and contribute to a productive work environment with all resort staff.

• Previous experience as a lift operator is preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.
• Must enjoy working outdoors and in variable weather conditions.
