Constructs, repairs, and maintains St. Labre residential houses and buildings conforming to required codes and maintains equipment and tools by performing the following duties.

High school diploma or GED; and six months to one year related experience and/or training in carpentry or construction required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Construction Technology Certificate preferred.

Valid Montana driver's license required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Manual dexterity for using hammers, saws, wrenches, and other hand tools is continuously required, with twisting and turning above the waist. These functions are also occasionally required while balancing on ladders, platforms, or other uneven working surfaces, as well as reaching over the head with tools for procedures.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
