Overview
As a Retail Sales Associate at Big Sky Resort, you are the face of our retail operations, welcoming guests, sharing product knowledge, and delivering an exceptional customer experience every day. You play a key role in supporting our dynamic retail environment by engaging with customers, maintaining store standards, and contributing to overall team success.
Big Sky’s retail locations offer a wide range of products including ski, snowboard, and bike gear, outerwear, apparel, athleisure wear, gifts, and souvenirs. We are looking for enthusiastic, guest-focused individuals to join our team across locations such as:
Lone Peak Logo, Big Sky Cap Co., Candle Bar and the Huntley Trading Post.

ResponsibilitiesCustomer Experience & Sales:
- Greet all guests with a friendly, welcoming attitude and provide excellent customer service throughout their visit.
- Assist customers with product selection, answer questions, and offer upselling opportunities based on current promotions and guest needs.
- Stay knowledgeable about product offerings across all categories, including seasonal equipment and apparel.
- Help drive store sales by contributing to a fun, engaging, and service-focused environment.
Store Presentation & Merchandising:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor that reflects brand standards.
- Assist with restocking merchandise, setting up displays, and executing merchandising plans.
- Support daily execution of visual and brand standards as outlined in the internal audit processes.
Operational Support:
- Accurately process transactions at the point-of-sale system, including sales, returns, and exchanges.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety, cleanliness, and loss prevention protocols.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, ensuring the store is always “grand opening sharp”.
- Maintain a safe and organized workspace for team members and guests.
Team
Collaboration:
- Work closely with fellow team members and store leadership to meet daily goals and provide seamless guest experiences.
- Participate in ongoing training sessions to improve product knowledge and service skills.
- Support store operations by assisting with special projects, promotional events, and seasonal transitions as needed.
- Previous retail or customer service experience preferred, but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a guest-first mindset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Able to stand and walk for extended periods
- Capable of overhead reaching, bending, squatting, kneeling, and lifting up to 55 lbs with assistance
- Comfortable walking stairs and climbing ladders
- Able to perform daily maintenance tasks including sweeping, vacuuming, and trash removal
