Position SummaryThe Bar Lead is responsible for delivering exceptional performance in their role, upholding Forbes 5-Star standards, and embodying the property’s Core Values. This position ensures the efficient and high-quality operation of the bar, providing leadership and support to the bar team. By providing expertly crafted beverages and exceptional guest experiences, the Bar Lead contributes directly to the property’s reputation for excellence.
Responsibilities- Oversee daily bar operations, ensuring smooth service and adherence to opening and closing procedures.
- Prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to bar staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Monitor inventory levels of bar supplies, spirits, wines, and beers, and assist with ordering and stock rotation.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding alcohol service, including age verification.
- Handle guest inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally, resolving issues to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including equipment, glassware, and storage.
- Accurately process guest orders and payments using the POS system.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Restaurant Manager.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a bartender in a high-volume or luxury establishment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.
- Certification in responsible alcohol service (e.g., TIPS, Serv Safe Alcohol) required.
- Strong knowledge of mixology, spirits, wines, and craft beers.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, and reach overhead.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by business needs.
- Exposure to a fast-paced, sometimes noisy environment with potential for slippery surfaces.
