The Lead Grounds & Landscaping Supervisor is responsible for preserving the natural beauty and cultivated landscapes of a Forbes Five-Star guest ranch. This role combines hands‑on horticultural expertise with leadership to oversee a small team dedicated to the care of lawns, trees, gardens, and outdoor spaces. The ideal candidate takes pride in stewardship of the land, has strong plant and turf knowledge, and ensures that every landscaped area reflects the high standards of luxury hospitality.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Supervise and lead a landscaping crew of up to 2 team members; provide training, guidance, and daily direction.
- Plan and execute landscaping schedules including mowing, pruning, irrigation, planting, and seasonal clean‑up.
- Apply horticultural knowledge to maintain the health of grasses, perennials, shrubs, trees, and native plants and grasses.
- Monitor and adjust watering and irrigation systems to ensure plant vitality.
- Collaborate with the Director of Engineering on design and placement of new plantings, planters, and grounds improvements.
- Operate and maintain landscaping equipment, performing minor repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Ensure the team follows safety standards and maintains clean, guest‑ready work areas at all times.
- Support Ranch operations with professionalism, particularly when projects intersect with guest spaces.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support overall Ranch operations.
- High School Diploma or GED required; additional coursework or certification in horticulture, landscape management, or turf management strongly preferred.
- Minimum 21 years of age with a valid driver’s license.
- 3+ years of professional landscaping or grounds management experience; supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of plant care, turf health, irrigation practices, and regional growing conditions.
- Personable, professional appearance; comfortable with occasional guest interaction.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills; able to direct and motivate a small team.
- Reliable, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to safely lift up to 35 lbs, perform physical outdoor work, and work in varied weather conditions.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed to support Ranch operations.
