The Whitebark Pine Reforestation Forester fills a generalist position responsible for most phases of forest land management at the project level, ensuring that all proposed activities meet applicable Tribal, Federal and State regulations and laws. Projects assigned will be of a moderate to highly complex nature, often controversial, with numerous conflicting social, political and biological factors.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry, Forest Management or related Natural Resource Degree related to Restoration Ecology.
• A Masters degree and/or three (3) years' experience would be preferable.
• Working or research in high elevation forest including Whitebark Pine stands.
• Possession of a valid Montana Driver's License.
• Must be able to qualify for a Bureau of Indian Affairs Motor Vehicle Operator license.
• Physical exam and/or pack test for fire activities as required by government regulations.
• Must possess or be able to obtain pesticide applicators license.
