Overview
Cabinet Peaks Medical Center is looking to have an ER RN to join our Emergency Department full time. This position can progress into a leadership role of Charge RN position. $9/HR Specialty Diff!
Responsibilities- The ER RN provides direct and indirect patient care in the emergency setting and coordinates care planning with other disciplines, reflecting initiative, flexibility and responsibility with minimal supervision.
- Triages patients safely, rapidly and accurately, determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs, and considers factors influencing patient flow through the system.
- Performs head-to-toe assessments on all patients and reassessments as per policy, including pediatric, geriatric, and general populations according to age-appropriate standards.
- Assesses and reassesses pain, utilizes appropriate pain management techniques, and educates patients and families regarding pain management.
- Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required, and adjusts nursing care plans to ensure optimal patient care and documentation per policy.
- Administers medications according to age, clinical condition, and the six rights, reducing potential for medication errors.
- Formulates teaching plans based on identified learning needs, includes family in teaching when appropriate, and evaluates effectiveness of learning.
- Assists providers with procedures and performs services requiring technical and manual skills.
- Participates in meetings, committees, and continuing education to improve performance at individual, departmental, and organizational levels.
- Performs waived testing (point-of-care) per policy and interprets results, taking appropriate action on results.
- Coordinates and supervises patient care as necessary and demonstrates flexibility, organization, and the ability to function under stressful situations.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, interpersonal and social skills.
- Excellent prioritization, organization and time management skills.
- Very good computer skills with order entry and patient registration applications.
- Flexibility and availability in scheduling to meet department needs.
- Ability to operate independently with confidence in a high-stress environment while communicating effectively.
- Honesty, integrity and accountability for actions; advocates for patients and families; professional and therapeutic customer service skills.
- Associates degree from an accredited school of nursing.
- MT state or compact state nurse licensure.
- Current BLS & ACLS.
- NRP; must obtain within 3 months of hire.
- TNCC & ENPC; must obtain within 12 months of hire.
2 years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department setting preferred but not required.
