Chenega Government Mission Solutions, LLC, a Chenega Professional Services company, is looking for an Optometrist (Locum Tenens) in support of the Indian Health Service's Northern Cheyenne Service Unit in Lame Deer, Montana. The Optometrist shall deliver quality care to attain positive health outcomes for all our valued patients with emphasis on cultural sensitivity and human dignity.

Responsibilities
  • Position details: 1099, rate USD 100-110/hr.
  • Chenega covers medical malpractice insurance.
  • Patient Volume:
    Estimated 20 per day.
  • Provide comprehensive Optometry care utilizing the Indian Health Service supplied facilities, equipment and support services.
  • Examine, diagnose, and develop treatment plans and recommendations for patients seen.
  • Recommend and refer patients to other Indian Health Service providers and Purchased Referred Care vendors within appropriate IHS guidelines.
  • Capable of responding to rapidly changing and unexpected needs for temporary coverage within a service unit.
  • Advise the Clinical Director or designated representative of any problems encountered in meeting the patient care needs.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities that ensure quality patient care as well as efficient use of hospital resources, including chart review and discussion with the Clinical Director or their designee.
  • Develop a working understanding of the Joint Commission standards, the Centers for Disease Control guidelines and Association of Infection Control guidelines.
  • Complete all required administrative paperwork within 24 hours of patient visit, including electronic consultations, co-signatures, chart completion, Risk Management Reviews, unusual occurrences and peer review, as required.
  • Provide consultation to the Hospital Emergency Department health care providers on an as-needed basis.
  • Provide Optometry services and staff urgent care clinic, as needed at El Reno and Clinton locations.
Qualifications
  • Doctor of Optometry.
  • Permanent, current, full, and unrestricted license to practice Optometry in a state, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
  • (Preferred) Board Certified in Optometry.
  • Active BLS certification.
  • 2 years minimum experience in Optometry.
Estimated Salary/Wage

USD $100.00/Hr. Up to USD $110.00/Hr.
