Position Summary

The Surgical Technician will join our Peri-Operative/Surgical Services team, providing patient care to meet identified patient outcomes and support the goals of the facility as directed by the physician and peri-operative surgical nursing team. The Technician performs duties according to the scope of practice designated by Barrett Hospital & Health Care, and in accordance with industry-recognized professional organizations and certification boards.

Responsibilities include preparing equipment, instruments and supplies during surgery, protecting the sterile area, and anticipating the needs of the surgeon.

Schedule

Full‑time, Monday‑Friday, 5x8 shifts. Days on call once every three weeks.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.
  • Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program recognized by CAAHEP or ABHES.
  • National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTA) certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and electronic medical record documentation preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
