5x2, 4x3 – 9-hour days
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
At Sibanye-Stillwater, the Engineering - Supervisor of Projects is responsible for the management of other engineers and processes within their department. The Engineering Supervisor plays a key role at the MT PGM Operations in integrating technical duties within the larger organization.
- Coordinates resources and efforts to complement all areas in realizing overall mine goals.
- Foster cooperation, collaboration, and innovation to ensure that realistic production and development goals are being set and met, while also ensuring that resource value is being maximized.
- Lead team to maximum mine operations through safely optimizing mine systems, planning, and procedures.
- Oversee a working group and take appropriate action in supporting a positive and inclusive work environment as well as professionally addressing behaviors that don't align with Sibanye-Stillwater's core values.
- Ability to perform complex technical tasks specific to the role while leading direct reports.
- Demonstrate positive two-way verbal and written communication.
- Develop and manage balanced work groups, allocating and sharing resources.
- Manage the project engineering group in the design, evaluation, and implementation of strategic options and/or process improvements through the application of engineering principles.
- Work effectively and collaborate with other technical services and operations personnel.
- Work with operations to overcome any forecasted bottlenecks.
- Assist with projects ranging from simple to complex and encompassing all facets of the operation.
- Support the Projects Engineering on plan compilation, data verification, and reporting as well as support and maintain standardized practices and procedures for engineering.
- Perform Technical Assurance reviews as needed.
- QA/QC of project engineering deliverables including plans, designs, proposals, etc.
- Understand and budget for future production goals factoring in all infrastructure associated with achieving set goals.
- Other tasks as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
Required:
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to work autonomously, as well as within a team-based environment.
- Intermediate to advance understanding of MSHA regulations.
- Strong understanding of rock project principles, practice, and software.
- Proven project planning and scheduling experience.
- Familiarity with cost reporting and cost tracking analysis.
- Strong computer skills in AutoCAD, Excel, and Word.
Preferred:
- Working knowledge and understanding of UG mine operations.
- Previous supervisory experience
Education and Experience:
- BS in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, or equivalent, with a minimum of 6 years of mine engineering experience.
