2026-27 School Year:  Harrison School seeks a passionate and knowledgeable 7-12 History Teacher to teach Montana history, world history, and government and to inspire and educate students about history. The ideal candidate will foster an appreciation for the past and its impact on the present and future, create engaging lesson plans, promote critical thinking, and develop students’ understanding of historical events, concepts, and perspectives.

This candidate will collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support student learning, use various teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning abilities, and create a safe and respectful classroom culture.

The applicant must possess or be in the process of obtaining a valid State of Montana teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements.

Harrison is a small rural school serving the communities of Pony, Norris and Harrison. Harrison is located outside of Bozeman. The school is 46 miles west of the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse on the campus of Montana State University. We are 5-15 minutes away from Harrison Lake, Norris Hot Springs, multiple trail heads, Lewis & Clark Caverns, the Madison River, the Jefferson River and Ennis Lake.

The Madison River is a popular place to fish and float the river in the summer months.

The Harrison School District has approximately 55 students K-12. We have updated teaching materials and are a 1:1 school for technology. Harrison is a great little school in a community that is often quick to support the school and our students—Harrison co-ops multiple sports with the Whitehall Trojans.

There is a veteran presence on staff. We encourage outdoor learning, and students and staff participate in an annual ski day at Bridger Bowl.

There is currenlty no school housing available, but the school will try to assist a successful candidate in finding housing. Some of our staff reside in Whitehall, Three Forks, or Ennis.

Salary Range: $42,856 - $52,866

Insurance Contribution: $8,040 annually

The district provides free lunch for staff.

Breathtaking view of Hollowtop Mountain:
Priceless!

Several extra-curricular opportunities are available that provide another way to be involved in student learning.
