Superintendent is responsible for managing, overseeing projects, providing direction, and mentoring project Foreman and crews. The Superintendent assists in all aspects of projects assigned and must maintain excellent working relationships with crew, foreman, subcontractors, customers, and engineers to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and profitability requirements are achieved while meeting or exceeding customer expectations.

Physical and Environmental Factors
  • Ability to work outdoors and in all types of outdoor weather.

  • Ability to coordinate hands, feet, and limbs in performing skilled movement.
  • Ability to travel and be away from home for extended periods of time.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
  • Meet or exceed all safety, quality, and productivity requirements for projects assigned.
  • Lead, direct, and 重 ment Foreman and crews regarding all aspects of projects to ensure on‑time completion while meeting all financial and non‑financial objectives.
  • Responsible for staffing projects, actively recruiting new talent, retaining existing employees, and promoting career advancement.
  • Manage employee relation issues and provide recognition, discipline, and performance evaluations.
  • Recruit and recommend additional subcontractors for approval.
  • Recommend and initiate training and cross‑training for all personnel in their area of responsibility to become experts in their field.
  • Responsible for project planning and scheduling of projects assigned and take the appropriate action to meet or beat deadlines.
  • Monitor overall project performance to meet productivity, safety, and quality standards and take the appropriate action to resolve issues.
  • Review and approve daily time for crews, time reports, invoices, purchase orders, and other required paperwork.
  • Responsible for daily preventative maintenance on construction equipment and report issues to the Fleet Manager immediately.
  • Provide weekly reports to the Fleet Manager on information such as equipment hours, miles, etc.
  • Understand project contracts for projects assigned.
  • Abide by all company and manufacturer provided safety operational procedures, industry safety standards, OSHA, and other applicable regulations titular.
  • Establish a positive working relationship with crews, customers, and subcontractors.
  • Document and maintain a daily log of project events.
  • Manage documents and elevate change orders for approval in a timely manner.
  • Approve subcontractor units, production, quality, accuracy, and inventory.
  • Ensure accurate redlines/as builds, production footage, and subcontractor management to keep all projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Preplan mobilization of crews, equipment, subs, materials, and other project‑related items.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
  • Five (5) years supervisory experience within a utility construction setting.
  • Demonstrated field experience with digging operations in city and rural areas around utilities and operating equipment such as backhoe/loader, excavator, cable plow, and compact track loader, including various attachments.
Requirements
  • Valid Driver’s License;
    Class A CDL preferred.
  • Must be able to pass pre‑employment screenings.
  • Ability to motivate, mentor, and lead teams.
  • Must work well with others and participate on a crew.

  • Computer literate with experience using Microsoft and Google G‑suite.
  • Read, comprehend, and prepare all project‑related work reports.
