Truck Driver
Highway LTE Senior Equipment Operator II – Truck Driver position.
Employment Period:
April 27, 2026 until late October 2026.
The job duties of the Senior Equipment Operator II include, but are not limited to the following:
- Operates road maintenance, construction, and equipment, including quad-axle trucks, loaders, tractors, mowers, skid loaders, excavators, graders, dozers, and plows. Exposure to hazardous highway traffic.
- Safely operate patrol/haul trucks as per licensed and other assigned light and heavy construction equipment, machinery, and tools for highway and bridge maintenance and construction, construction and maintenance materials handling, sand and gravel mining.
- Communicate with other truck drivers and operators to coordinate materials handling and delivery. High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- A minimum of two years of experience in truck operation, highway maintenance, and/or highway construction is required.
- Class A Wisconsin Commercial Driver’s License with N‑Tanker Endorsement required and no air brake restrictions.
- Maintain regular, reliable, and predictable onsite job attendance.
- Ability to work independently.
Compensation:
Rate of pay starting at $26.40 per hour.
Please note that no benefits are offered for this seasonal role.
Schedule:
40 hours per week, 6:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday–Thursday (hours may vary based on weather conditions; some overtime hours required).
Physical and Environmental Factors:
The physical demands of this position will vary from day to day and are highly dependent on the particular function being performed.
The ability to lift 50 to 100 pounds occasionally and 25 to 50 pounds frequently is required. Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, crouching, and kneeling are required. Able to stand/be on feet for long periods.
Exposure to all weather conditions, including heat, rain, cold, dust, dirt, loud noises, etc. Ear, eye, and head protection is required and will be furnished by the county.
