If you enjoy working with people, enjoy variety in your day, and are not looking for a desk job, then consider joining the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Parks, and Fairgrounds Maintenance team. Parks is hiring Facility Maintenance Worker I – Parks & Fairgrounds employee.
You will be assigned to a crew performing a variety of tasks providing professional customer service and support for a year‑round schedule of events at the Evergreen State Fair Park. This full‑time position works a swing shift Wed–Sun 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm and a rotating schedule during the annual Evergreen State Fair. Management reserves the right to adjust schedules as needed to support events and staffing needs.
Your strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to provide excellent customer service to the public will make you successful in this role. Candidates should be comfortable working independently, outdoors, operating equipment, and providing professional customer service. Must be willing to work a non‑traditional schedule to include swing shifts and weekends and must have a valid State of Washington Driver's License.
Duties- Event setup, turnover, and customer support.
- Grounds and facility preparation and cleaning for and during scheduled events.
- Building maintenance and repairs, construction, carpentry, painting, plumbing, masonry.
- Operate and maintain a variety of vehicles and construction equipment such as pickup trucks with and without trailers, forklifts, boom‑lifts, light‑duty tractors, and loaders.
- Act as a Snohomish County ambassador.
