Position Overview
Occupational Therapist – Full-Time – In-House Program / Exceptional Team.
Job Summary: The Occupational Therapist evaluates, plans, organizes, and administers occupational therapy services in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, regulations and guidelines to ensure the highest degree of quality care. The therapist maintains accurate documentation, collaborates with all disciplines, and adheres to professional standards and ethical guidelines set forth by the state board of occupational therapy.
Key Responsibilities- Support Occupational/Physical Therapist Assistants by providing periodic training and guidance.
- Maintain documentation of all treatment provided in accordance with clinic directives, preparing records and reports as required.
- Provide appropriate therapeutic procedures, offering a full range of therapy services in support of patient referrals, ensuring safe and timely care.
- Develop realistic, documented treatment goals that comply with referrers’ intent; plan and prepare written treatment programs based on evaluation.
- Administer manual exercises to improve and maintain function and instruct, motivate, and assist patients in performing various physical activities, including the use of assistive devices such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.
- Record treatment, responses, and progress in the patient’s chart and/or automated systems; instruct patient and family in home procedures.
- Evaluate, fit, and adjust patient’s prosthetic and orthotic devices, recommending modifications as needed; coordinate treatment with physicians and staff to integrate occupational therapy with overall patient care.
- Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Current, unrestricted license to practice Occupational Therapy in the assigned state.
