Overview
The Health Unit Coordinator manages the clerical functions of the nursing unit necessary to provide patient care. Follows established guidelines, policies, procedures and manuals from Fairfax Behavioral Health, The Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and other authorities, performing a wide variety of routine clerical duties in support of staff and patients, ensuring smooth operations of routine unit business such as processing documents and records, and maintaining and monitoring established record‑keeping methods as required.

Responsibilities
- Manage clerical functions of the nursing unit to support patient care.
- Follow guidelines, policies, procedures and manuals from Fairfax Behavioral Health, TJC, CMS, and other sources.
- Perform routine clerical duties, including processing documents and records, and maintaining and monitoring established record‑keeping methods.
- Ensure smooth operations of routine unit business.
Qualifications
- Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent. - Administrative experience: 2+ years, with 1 year in a health‑care setting required.
- Successful completion of Verbal De‑Escalation, Handle with Care certifications, and CPR (provided during Fairfax new hire training).
