Overview

Registered Nurse 2 (RN2). Full-time, Permanent. Monroe Correctional Complex (MCC), Monroe, WA.

Schedule:

Wednesday-Sunday 2:00 PM–10:30 PM (Monday/Tuesday off).

Registered Nurse 1 (in-training):

Monthly Salary Range: $6,428.00–$10,537.00

Hourly Salary Range: $36.94–$60.56

Registered Nurse 2:

Monthly Salary Range: $7,832.00–$12,839.00

Hourly Salary Range: $45.01–$73.79

Join the Department of Corrections (DOC) team to make a real difference in the lives of others and to find personal fulfillment in your role. This position may be filled with a 12-month in-training plan as a Registered Nurse 1 to the goal class of Registered Nurse 2.

Registered Nurses will receive shift differential of $2.50 per hour for evening and night shift work. Employees may qualify for one or both of these supplemental shift premiums:

  • One dollar ($1.00) per hour from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
  • Three dollars ($3.00) per hour from Friday midnight to Sunday midnight.

Facilities and patient care details:

  • 26 beds in patient unit
  • Treatment of chronic diseases (Hepatitis C, diabetes, hypertension, cancer, Alzheimer's dementia, COPD)
  • Outpatient clinic sees 15–20 patients per day

Responsibilities and qualifications
:

  • On-Call Nurses: be available to work all shifts (day, swing, graveyard), including weekends and holidays; minimum of 10 shifts per month; provide written availability monthly; complete a paid three-week correctional core training (M–F, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM).
  • Licensure: current unencumbered RN license in Washington or an unencumbered Multistate License via the Nurse Licensure Compact with required training (Suicide Prevention, EDIR) and demographic survey.
  • Experience:

    one year of RN experience; AHA Healthcare Provider CPR training.
  • Technology: proficient with computer-based scheduling, patient data entry, and communications tools.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
