About Fairfax Behavioral Health
Fairfax Behavioral Health is a private, free‑standing mental health hospital founded in 1930 that specializes in psychiatric and detox treatment. Located in Kirkland, Everett, and Monroe, Washington, the facility offers a continuum of care and evidence‑based programs to meet community needs.
Position Summary – Monroe LocationThe EVS Tech is responsible for basic and specialty cleaning throughout the hospital, including patient rooms, offices, hallways, floors, and common areas, in accordance with healthcare best practices.
Requirements- High school diploma preferred.
- Six months of previous housekeeping experience preferred.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Maintain cleanliness in all patient care and non‑patient care areas.
- Comply with product labeling, storage, PPE processes, ergonomic body mechanics, standard work safety, and environmental safety.
- Remove and properly dispose of trash and recycling; thoroughly clean and disinfect trash receptacles.
- Clean and disinfect all high‑touch surfaces (door handles, handrails, etc.).
- Remove and properly stage soiled linens; stock clean linens; keep paper goods and other expendables fully stocked.
- Perform high dusting (including vents) and cleaning of all surfaces in the assigned shift area.
- Clean and disinfect all cleaning equipment, including EVS equipment and patient laundry machines.
- Clean all fixtures within all lavatories in assigned shift area (toilet, sink, shower).
- Sweep and mop all floor surfaces and wall bases.
- Clean all furniture, including hard surfaces of patient beds.
- Respond rapidly to urgent issues such as an overflowing toilet or other safety hazards, and participate in emergency response activities.
- Provide full cleaning services to all offices and other non‑clinical spaces within or adjacent to the assigned shift area.
- Store supplies and equipment safely, secured from patient access, and follow the uniform system of organizing carts and storage spaces.
- Assist coworkers as needed.
- Take immediate action to minimize risk in the environment of care.
- Comply with environment of care, life safety, emergency management, infection control, and risk management policies.
- Attend all mandatory facility in‑services and staff development activities as scheduled.
- Coordinate with the facilities department to support cleaning needs of maintenance projects.
- Execute other duties as assigned.
- Adhere to facility standards concerning conduct, dress, attendance, and punctuality.
