OverviewSalary Range: $20.00 – $22.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
Position Type:
Part-Time, 25 hours per week.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Thursday 9am – 3:45pm with 30 minute unpaid lunch break.
The Administrative Assistant serves as a warm and welcoming presence of our parish, greeting visitors and callers with kindness and professionalism. This role provides essential clerical support while actively contributing to the Church’s mission of guiding individuals to know and follow Jesus Christ.
This position requires an organized and self-motivated individual with experience working with Microsoft Office, email communication and internet navigation. Interpersonal skills are essential, including the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately in person, over the phone, via email and in written correspondence. As this role may involve handling sensitive and confidential information, a high level of discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality is imperative.
EssentialPosition Duties
- Ensures a hospitable and welcoming presence for parish visitors by providing appropriate assistance and/or referral to visitors. Answers telephone and ensures accurate and prompt transmission of messages.
- Provides general information to callers and visitors to the parish. Utilizes other church, social service, community and/or government directories to provide accurate and helpful information.
- Maintains parish database.
- Manages parish calendar by scheduling appointments and events.
- Provides clerical assistance as requested by the supervisor including calling to schedule or confirm meetings, filing, copying, sorting and preparing labels.
- Ensures the parish office is properly opened in the morning and securely closed at end of day (as needed).
- Manages office supplies by taking inventory and requesting purchases.
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Fluency of English and Spanish, both verbal and written.
- Experience with MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams).
- Experience with a client or church database system.
- Strong administrative office experience.
- Professional attitude and appearance.
- Excellent organizational skills, with attention to detail and ability to prioritize.
- Ability to handle and respect confidential and sensitive information.
- Punctual with reliable attendance history.

Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications.
