The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets all customers, cleans the work area, presents merchandise properly, and follows all company best practices.

• Prioritize safety and practice safe behaviors.
• Maintain awareness on the sales floor to create a safe shopping environment and keep egress clear.
• Treat all customers and associates with respect, friendliness, and professionalism.
• Assist customers at the register, answer questions, and greet all customers with eye contact, a smile, and a positive tone.
• Respond promptly to customer service calls and handle issues courteously, calling leadership when needed.
• Represent and support the Ross brand at all times.
• Perform cleaning tasks: sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies, and disinfecting high‑touch areas.
• Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the company dress code.
• Perform daily assigned sizing and recovery per best practices.
• Expedite new merchandise receipts with urgency and proper merchandising.
• Apply loss prevention, shortage, and stock protection protocols.
• Safeguard confidential information, cash, and merchandise.
• Follow MOS policies and cash handling procedures, ensuring accuracy with bankable tenders.
• Demonstrate a sense of urgency and efficiency, maximizing productivity by executing best practices.

• Communicate with customers, associates, and leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations common in retail.

• Use all store equipment (PDTs, registers, PCs) as required.
• Spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
• Regularly bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
• Occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds; stockroom shifts may require lifting more than 20 pounds.
• Use janitorial equipment and other assigned supplies.
