A skilled Registered Nurse with Operating Room expertise is sought for a contract assignment based in Monroe, NC, supporting a large facility recognized for trauma and specialty surgical care. This role requires extensive OR proficiency, flexibility to work a range of 12-hour day shifts, and commitment to on-call and weekend rotations.

Location: Monroe, North Carolina
Monroe is a vibrant city offering a welcoming community atmosphere, access to regional healthcare facilities, and proximity to larger metropolitan areas. It provides a balance of suburban living with cultural and recreational opportunities nearby.

Schedule/Hours:
  • 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
  • Weekend rotation every 4th weekend (scheduled shifts or call)
  • Call required: average 6 call shifts per 6-week schedule, with a 45-minute response time
  • Weekend call or scheduled shifts between 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
  • Holiday coverage expected at approximately 75% of holidays
  • Shift variation possible: 7a-7p, 9a-9p, 11a-11p
  • Schedule cycles every 6 weeks
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
  • Registered Nurse license in North Carolina (NC RN)
  • Minimum 5 years OR nursing experience
  • BLS certification required; CNOR preferred but not mandatory
  • Strong experience circulating in trauma, ortho trauma, total joints, spine, cardiac, vascular, gynecology, robotics, general surgery, bariatrics, urology, ENT, plastics, and other specialty cases
  • Charge RN experience and scrub proficiency required for night shifts
  • Ability to perform laparoscopic, open abdominal, ortho trauma, cystoscopy, vascular, and robotics cases is a plus
  • Proven flexibility, motivation, and team collaboration skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high acuity OR environment
Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert perioperative nursing care in a Level 3 Trauma and specialty surgical center
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary surgical teams and support staff
  • Maintain compliance with safety, infection control, and documentation standards using EPIC EMR
  • Participate actively in on-call rotations and weekend coverage as scheduled
  • Adapt to case demands dynamically and provide necessary support across various surgical specialties
