A highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) with Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) expertise is sought for a contract assignment offering an opportunity to work in a well-equipped surgical environment. This role involves supporting a busy operating suite with 13 OR rooms and a specialized procedure room, performing a wide variety of cases ranging from orthopedic and general surgeries to advanced cardiothoracic and vascular operations.

The position requires at least two years of experience in the OR specialty with proficiency in EPIC electronic medical records and the ability to circulate in diverse cases including CABG, TAVR, vascular, thoracic, orthopedic, robotic, GYN, and general surgery. The ideal candidate will be comfortable participating in a call rotation covering 3-4 weeknight calls and 1-2 weekend shifts every six weeks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert perioperative nursing care in multiple surgical specialties, including high-acuity CVOR cases.
  • Collaborate effectively with surgical teams, anesthesia providers, and support staff.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols.
  • Document patient care accurately using EPIC and operate related equipment such as Alaris IV pumps and Omnicell medication dispensing systems.
  • Participate in on-call rotation including weeknight and holiday coverage.
Qualifications:
  • Current RN license with BLS certification required.
  • Minimum two years OR experience in related specialties.
  • Recent and strong CVOR experience focused on cardiothoracic and vascular procedures.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume surgical caseload.
  • EPIC system proficiency is necessary.
Schedule:
  • 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Call requirements with night and weekend shifts as noted.
