Job Details
• 12-hour night shifts ) in a 14-bed Medical ICU at a 174-bed community hospital,
• Adult medical ICU patient population including sepsis, DKA, stroke, CIWA, respiratory/kidney/liver failure, GI bleeds, surgical, CHF, and COPD cases - no cardiothoracic or high-level neuro surgeries,
• Patient ratios of 1:2-3 depending on staffing,
• Weekend rotation of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling cycle (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday),
• 50% of assigned holidays are expected to be worked during the contract,
• Floating possible to PCU or other ICU areas; floating to Med Surg is unlikely but possible - travelers rotate with staff,
• No on-call or call-back requirements,

Philips bedside and central station monitors,
Job Requirements
• Active NC RN license or compact RN license currently in hand,
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required,
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required,
• Epic EMR experience required,
• Proficiency with vented patients, trachs, chest tubes, critical drips, central line maintenance, arterial lines, wound care, wound vacs, drains, cardiac rhythm interpretation, PIV starts, and NG tube insertion/maintenance,
• At least 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN,
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration,
• Must have a permanent address located 50+ miles from the facility - local candidates are not accepted,

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,
• Orientation includes a general new employee orientation (NEO) followed by 2 unit-based orientation shifts,
• Overnight support includes 1 CNA (covering HUC duties), a charge RN (part of Rapid Response/Code Team), remote triage RN with camera monitoring and virtual critical care physician coverage, anesthesia available for central line placements, and 24/7 RT, hospitalist, and intensivist coverage,
• ICU nurses draw their own labs; PICC team available during day shift only,
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved during the contract,
• Scrub color:
Navy Blue,
• Parking is free,
• Candidates who have previously worked a permanent position at an AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible,
