Job Summary
In house equipment technician with expertise in the areas of finish equipment, spray equipment, pumps, guns, tips, hoses, spray and finish techniques, etc. Provides technical support and ongoing training for operators, leads, etc. to ensure optimal quality and productivity is achieved to meet customer demands.
Essential Functions- Provides technical support and training for affected personnel.
- Maintenance on flat line and rollcoater that includes but not limited to all guns, tips, belt, lines, etc.
- Expert on flat line and rollcoater machines operations from start up to troubleshooting.
- Will provide manual hand sanding, spraying as needed to production needs.
- Maintenance on all pumps, guns, tips, spray components, etc. for all spray areas of the finish or spray related areas.
- Provides equipment troubleshooting support for any finish and spray operations and ensures equipment is running optimally and within the manufacturers specifications.
- Weekly PM's of existing equipment in finish and spray operations, etc.
- Weekly audits of operator filter cleaning and change‑outs as well as spray guns and booths.
- Assists with standard work and / or SOP’s for new processes.
- Training of affected operators on spray, finish techniques, flow and maintenance of equipment.
- Assist with inventory and ensure we have adequate inventory for redundancy if equipment failure takes place.
- Coordination of projects in Finish Building to include but not limited to product development (glaze, new stains, new equipment, etc.).
- Puts into practice Lean tools promoted by the company including improvements of existing processes (MDF quality, spray techniques, etc.).
- Fills out daily log for usage of chemical materials.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by ensuring that policies and safety procedures are followed.
- Applies spill containment process and complies with environmental & safety requirements.
- Performs other work related duties as assigned.
- Experience in hand spraying and finish techniques.
- Working knowledge of all operational equipment in finish and spray operations.
- 5–7 years of experience in fast paced manufacturing environment at the same or similar position.
- Mechanically inclined with troubleshooting aptitude.
- Knowledge of manufacturing methods, process & quality standards.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Team player.
- Knowledge of general safety and hygiene practices.
