Fitter III

Overview

Position Summary To perform weld preparation by means of burning, grinding, machining, layout, and fit-up as directed by supervisor. Complete assembly of skid units.

• Completes all shaft-to-shaft alignments within .002 TIR
• Completes all Zenith systems assembly.
• Completes all Systems Group Skid assembly.
• Serve as a technical resource for safety on rigging & lifting.
• Bends, installs & test mechanical tubing.
• Sandblasting, layout, burning, machining prep, & fit-up.
• Set up and use a variety of precision measuring instruments to maintain dimensions and tolerances as required.
• Communicate frequently and effectively to associates throughout the organization, including team members, engineers, schedulers, and upper management.
• Perform the above duties without assistance except on unusual or difficult jobs only.
• Consistently produce work of proper quality and of properly required quantity.
• Operate burning table.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

• Be able to follow verbal and written instructions; read and work on drawings, setup cards, charts and tables with or without job tag instructions.
• Proficient working knowledge of IFS preferred.
• Use of mathematics together with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables; various types of precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to define routine problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Impeccable integrity;
  Superior interpersonal skills; able to communicate and engage personnel at all levels of the organization.
• While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The associate is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch. The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. The associate may, on rare occasions lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  
  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• 5 years of experience in fabrication or related manufacturing experience.
