Senior Financial Analyst - Cost Estimation & Inventory Accounting

ATI is a global manufacturer of technically advanced specialty materials and complex components. Our products support diverse markets and industries such as aerospace and defense, oil & gas, electrical energy, medical, automotive, and other industrial markets.

We are seeking to hire a Senior Financial Specialist to support both Cost Estimation and Inventory Accounting functions for our Specialty Materials business unit. This position will be based in Monroe, NC.

Employees in this position are responsible for analyzing and reporting financial data from manufacturing activities to determine the cost of conducting business. The position will help steer the profitability of the company by supporting manufacturing, sales and management with valuable financial information to help guide business decision and reduce product cost. He/she will be responsible for the completeness, accuracy, timeliness and quality of monthly, quarterly and annual cost reporting and analysis.

Analysis includes, but is not limited to, inventory, labor and procurement cost.

• Lead or assist with month-end close (Richburg Plant), including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Perform reconciliations for assigned accounts
• Coordinate with Revert Management group for accurate valuation and count of revert material.
• Support inventory forecasting and variance explanation.
• Lead development of cost travelers working with product management.
• Assist with profitability and margin analysis.
• Prepare month end inventory reserves (Excess & Obsolete, Hedges, etc.), while engaging business to help drive reserve balances down.
• Serve as site lead for annual physical inventory and support the cycle count program (stockroom).
• Lead or contribute to continuous improvement and process optimization projects, including data automation and system enhancements.
• Assist with physical inventory as well as the cycle count program.
• Monthly/Quarterly reporting including scrap reporting and ABL.
• Assist in cost savings projects as needed
• Assist in audit requests

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
• 3 years of experience with knowledge of Cost Accounting, Cost Estimation Analysis and/or process manufacturing

• Advanced degree (MBA or CPA) preferred
• Accounting experience for a mid-large manufacturing company.
• Background in process manufacturing with a deep understanding of cost flows and inventory valuation.
• ERP experience (Oracle strongly preferred).
• SQL and/or Power BI experience for data analysis and dashboard reporting.
