Job Description

  • The Defense Technical Writer will develop and maintain high-quality technical documentation that meets organizational and defense industry standards. This role involves translating complex technical information into clear, accurate, and user-friendly content while collaborating closely with engineering, operations, and other cross‑functional teams.
Requirement/Must Have
  • Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex subject matter.
  • Experience writing documentation and procedure manuals for diverse audiences.
  • Superb written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Responsibilities
  • Develop comprehensive documentation that meets organizational standards.
  • Gain deep understanding of products and services and translate complex information into clear, engaging content.
  • Write user‑friendly documentation tailored to target audiences.
  • Research, outline, write, and edit content in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
  • Gather information from subject‑matter experts and create procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation.
  • Create and maintain templates that align with organizational standards.
  • Develop content in alternative media formats to improve usability.
  • Work with engineers and operations teams to improve user experience, refine content, and create visuals and diagrams for technical support materials.
