Position: High School Middle School Special Ed Teacher | Monroe, New York
A full-time special education teaching opportunity is available beginning June 26, 2026, following completion of background checks. This role is located in Monroe, NY and involves a contract position within a school setting. There is also an option to participate in a six-week summer program prior to the regular start date.

This position requires 35 hours per week, providing consistent engagement with students across multiple grade levels including early childhood, elementary, middle, and high school. The caseload features varied classroom sizes and support staff ratios, ranging from a class of 12 students with 1 teacher to smaller groups of 6 to 8 students supported by additional instructional aides. Student needs are diverse, with learners at multiple developmental stages, including verbal and non-verbal individuals.

Staff receive specialized training to effectively support students exhibiting behavioral challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction tailored to students' varying abilities and developmental levels
• Collaborate with teaching staff and support personnel to manage classrooms and address behavioral needs
• Design and implement educational plans in alignment with New York State special education standards
• Maintain comprehensive records of student progress and communicate regularly with families and school staff
• Participate in seasonal programming, including the summer program offering

Required Qualifications:

• NY State Special Education Teaching Certification valid for appropriate grade levels
• Master's degree in Education or related field
• Experience working with a diverse caseload, including students with behavioral challenges and different communication abilities
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
