We are seeking a Warehouse Manager to join our team in New Jersey!
The Warehouse & Distribution Manager is responsible for the full operational performance of warehouse, inventory, fleet, and last‑mile distribution activities. This role oversees receiving, storage, picking, dispatch, trucking compliance, and delivery execution while driving productivity initiatives, financial optimization, and continuous improvement projects that generate measurable ROI.
This position functions as a business operator, owning KPIs, cost structure, fleet compliance, and service performance.
Duties/Responsibilities Warehouse Operations Leadership- Oversee receiving, warehousing, picking, staging, and dispatch operations.
- Ensure optimal warehouse layout, space utilization, and workflow efficiency.
- Maintain equipment performance (forklifts, pallet jacks, dock levelers, wrapping machines).
- Enforce safety standards (OSHA compliance, incident prevention programs).
- Implement loss prevention and shrink control procedures.
- Manage company‑owned trucks and independent contractor fleet.
- Oversee preventive maintenance programs.
- Monitor vehicle utilization, downtime, and cost per mile.
- Ensure proper insurance documentation and vehicle registration compliance.
- Control fuel consumption and cost efficiency.
- Design and optimize delivery routes for productivity and cost efficiency.
- Monitor on‑time delivery performance and service levels.
- Reduce route overruns and overtime.
- Analyze route profitability (cost per stop, cost per case delivered).
- Ensure full compliance with DOT regulations, FMCSA standards, driver qualification files, Hours of Service (HOS), ELD compliance, vehicle inspection reports (DVIR), CDL requirements.
- Maintain driver safety files and documentation.
- Oversee drug & alcohol compliance programs.
- Lead safety audits and prepare for DOT inspections.
- Reduce CSA score risk exposure.
- Investigate accidents and implement corrective action plans.
- Identify operational bottlenecks across warehouse and transportation.
- Lead productivity projects in picking, loading, dispatch, and routing.
- Implement lean / process optimization initiatives.
- Improve labor productivity per hour.
- Reduce damage rates and miss‑picks.
- Improve truck loading efficiency and dock turnaround time.
- Conduct ROI analysis on fleet expansion vs. contractors, equipment purchases, warehouse automation, layout redesign, routing software implementation.
- Build business cases for CAPEX and operational investments.
- Monitor labor cost per case, cost per route, cost per mile, overtime %, maintenance cost trends.
- Drive measurable cost savings initiatives.
- Develop and maintain dashboards tracking warehouse KPIs: inventory accuracy %, order accuracy %, productivity per labor hour, shrink %, dock‑to‑stock time.
- Track transportation KPIs: on‑time delivery %, cost per mile, cost per stop, route profitability, driver productivity, accident rate, DOT compliance score, fuel efficiency metrics.
- Provide weekly and monthly executive‑level reporting.
- Oversee cycle counts and reconciliation.
- Minimize inventory discrepancies.
- Manage dead stock reporting.
- Improve inventory turns.
- Lead warehouse supervisors and drivers.
- Coach and develop performance through KPI‑driven accountability.
- Drive safety culture across warehouse and fleet.
- Lead change management initiatives.
