Tax Preparer

Description We are looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to join our team on a contract basis in Monroe, Michigan. This role will primarily focus on preparing individual tax returns, including self-employed filings, with an emphasis on 1040 forms. The position offers an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise in tax preparation while working with Ultra Tax software.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare accurate and timely individual tax returns, including self-employed filings and 1040 forms.

- Manage a high volume of tax returns efficiently during the tax season.

- Utilize Ultra Tax software to ensure compliance and precision in all tax filings.

- Review and analyze financial documents for accuracy and completeness.

- Stay updated on tax laws and regulations to provide accurate tax guidance.

- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and meet deadlines.

- Assist clients with tax-related inquiries and provide exceptional customer service.

- Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive financial information.

- Ensure all tax filings comply with federal and state regulations.

- Identify opportunities for clients to optimize their tax situations. Requirements - Proven experience in tax preparation, including individual and self-employed tax returns.

- Strong knowledge of 1040 forms and relevant tax regulations.

- Proficiency in using Ultra Tax software.

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Ability to manage a high workload and meet deadlines during tax season.

- Strong communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration.

- Familiarity with federal and state tax laws.

- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
