The Louisiana Office of Juvenile Justice (OJJ) is committed to protecting the public by providing safe and effective individualized services to youth who will become productive, law‑adherent citizens. We are seeking flexible, dependable, and compassionate Substitute Teachers to provide classroom instruction to youth in secure care facilities. Substitute Teachers play a vital role in maintaining continuity of education, supporting academic achievement, and fostering a structured learning environment for justice‑involved youth.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Deliver instructional content in the absence of the regular classroom teacher
• Follow lesson plans and classroom procedures to ensure consistent learning
• Maintain classroom discipline and promote a safe, respectful environment
• Supervise students during instructional and non‑instructional periods
• Communicate with education staff regarding student progress and classroom needs
• Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners
• Maintain accurate attendance and classroom records

Work Location: Swanson Center for Youth, Monroe, LA.

Appointment Type: Part Time, WAE

Work Schedule: 3 days a week. 7.5 hour shifts

Compensation: $16.00 hourly

Incumbents work 7.5 hours per work day.
