The Louisiana Office of Juvenile Justice (OJJ) is committed to protecting the public by providing safe and effective individualized services to youth, who will become productive, law‑abiding citizens. We are seeking a highly experienced and compassionate Social Worker 7 to lead and coordinate advanced clinical services for youth in custody. This senior‑level role involves providing expert therapeutic interventions, supervising clinical staff, and shaping treatment strategies that support rehabilitation and reintegration.

The ideal candidate will bring deep clinical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to trauma‑informed care.

Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Licensed Master’s Social Worker (LMSW) or a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) plus:

A master's degree in social work followed by five years of social services experience.

NOTE:

Your social work/social services experience must have been earned AFTER your graduation date for your Master’s in Social Work to be credited towards the five‑year experience requirement.

Job Duties
  • Provide advanced clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for youth.

  • Supervise and mentor lower‑level social workers and interns.

  • Lead multidisciplinary team meetings and case reviews.

  • Coordinate with facility staff, families, and external agencies to ensure continuity of care.

  • Deliver direct therapeutic services including crisis intervention, counseling, and behavioral support.

  • Monitor treatment outcomes and adjust strategies as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with state regulations, ethical standards, and agency policies.

  • Serve as a clinical resource for staff training and development.

Position‑Specific Details

Work Location: This vacancy is located at Swanson Center for Youth in Monroe, Louisiana.

Appointment Type: Full time, Probational.

The incumbent will have full managerial responsibility over the social service program for Swanson Center for Youth in Monroe.

The incumbent of this position must not have been convicted or pled nolo contendere to a crime listed in R.S. 15:587.1 (c).
