Position Summary

Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Senior Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Monroe, LA.

• Hourly Pay: $27.16 per hour + shift differential + weekend differential
• Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained, up to $700
• Quarterly Bonus:
  Up to $500 every quarter – four times per year
• Sign On Bonus: $1,750 at 30 days and $1,750 at 90 days
• Schedule:
  
  Monday–Friday, weekends off
• Hours:
  
  First Shift 7:00 am – 3:30 pm

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Vocational or technical certification (post‑secondary degree or technical certifications) preferred
• Basic tools required
• Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventive maintenance, oil changes, brake and tire work
• Basic diagnostics and repairs of AC and electrical systems required
• Three (3) years or more relevant work experience preferred
• All other required certifications by location required
• Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy‑duty and medium‑duty equipment
• Computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
• Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months of hire
• Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and background/motor‑vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)
• Additional screening may be required (employment and education verification; vehicle records check; road test; badging; background requirements from the customer)

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard and preventive maintenance
• Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers when applicable
• Complete mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
• Replace defective components as instructed
• Work unsupervised on most tasks
• Perform facility maintenance duties
• Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints when assigned a task
• Utilize key functions of the Shop Management System and electronic documentation
• Comply with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
• Act as a mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
• Access and use internal and external maintenance documents
• Provide other support duties as required to support operations (e.g., Service Island support)
• SBTIII trained within 180 days (SBT
  220)
• Complete two of the OEM On‑Line diagnostic scan tool software courses required by location fleet mix within 365 days
