The primary objective of the home is to provide quality nursing care to eligible veterans with the ultimate goal of returning the veterans to the highest possible levels of physical and mental capacity.

We’re looking for a compassionate and reliable Licensed Practical Nurse to provide quality nursing care to residents in stable and predictable conditions at Northeast Louisiana Veterans Home
, in accordance with the Professional Nurses Practice Act.

Possession of a current Louisiana Practical Nurse license, a temporary permit, or a multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state. As an LPN, you will implement selective aspects of the nursing care plan, i.e., comfort, hygiene, safety measures, nutrition, etc., under progressively more generalized supervision from a Registered Nurse or Practical Nurse of a higher level.

• Observes residents for changes in physical status, mental status, or behavior and reports significant changes.
• Prepares and administers medication and treatments in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Transcribes physicians' orders and records medication and the patient's condition in the medical records.
• Applies dressings, ointments, and other treatments as ordered and documents the procedure.

• Work Schedule: Day Shift (6:45a‑7:15p), Night Shift (6:45p‑7:15a)
• Compensation:
  • Special Entrance Rate:
    Practical Nurse – Licensed, 1 is $19.48; 2 is $20.84; 3 is $22.30
  • PREMIUM PAY (per hour physically worked): $7.00 work incentive pay upon hire.
  • Shift Differential:
    This position qualifies for shift differentials, with rates varying based on shift time, day of the week, and holidays.
