Our 12-month, comprehensive transition-to-practice program facilitates your progress from student to professional nurse through education, mentorship, and peer support. The Nurse Residency program prepares new graduate nurses by teaching the knowledge, skills, and behaviors necessary to improve quality and safety at the point of care. It combines precepted orientation, led by dedicated preceptors, with blended learning experiences.
Nurse residents will:
- Develop clinical judgment to recognize changes in patients' conditions and respond urgently
- Enhance communication skills to engage with colleagues and support patients
- Participate in cohort experiences to promote peer and professional socialization
- Learn didactic content tailored for new graduates from professional nursing organizations
Opportunities are available in areas such as Acute Care, Critical Care, Emergency Department, Women's Services, Cardiovascular/Progressive Care, Surgical Services, Transplant, and more.

ResponsibilitiesThe staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle, utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care. The nurse functions within organizational policies and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. Responsibilities include maintaining standards of practice and coordinating patient care activities.

Graduate of a nursing program - Minimum Experience:
New graduates eligible - Licensure:
Current Georgia RN license - Certification: BLS required
- Preferred:
Bachelor's degree and advanced certification in specialty fields
