Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neonatal ICU night shift position requiring NRP and BLS certifications and at least one year of recent NICU experience.
Responsibilities

• Work in a 7-bed Neonatal ICU within a hospital setting

• Cares for infants 32 weeks gestation and older, mostly grower and feeder cases, including use of bubble CPAP

• RN patient ratios are typically 1:2 and occasionally 1:3 depending on staffing

• Uses EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors

• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00pm to 7:00am on a 6-week schedule cycle

• Weekend rotation is unit dependent and not every other weekend

• No on-call or call-back required for travelers

• Floating is not required, but experienced candidates may float to other units if they wish

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

• Support team includes CNA, receptionist/HUC, charge nurse, case manager, respiratory therapist (RT), hospitalist, and neonatologist available 24/7

• Remote telemonitoring and virtual consults are available

• Facility provides surgical scrubs

• Free parking is available

• Up to 6 days RTO may be approved, excluding holidays, with completion of contracted hours required

• Orientation includes NEO at Airport Center plus two departmental precepted shifts

• Holiday coverage is voluntary based on unit needs
Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license

• Current BLS and NRP certifications

• Minimum one year of neonatal ICU experience with recent experience within the last year

• Strong NRP skills and ability to stabilize neonates

• Experience with EPIC EMR preferred

• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility
