Senior Tax Manager
SummaryA privately held organization with complex ownership and investment activity is seeking a senior-level tax professional to oversee tax planning, compliance, and advisory support across a portfolio of individuals, trusts, and closely held entities. This position works closely with ownership and executive leadership in a highly confidential, relationship-driven environment and plays a key role in long-term financial strategy.
Responsibilities- Oversee preparation, review, and filing of federal and state tax returns for individuals, trusts, partnerships, and pass-through entities
- Analyze complex K-1s, investment income, and multi-entity ownership structures
- Develop and execute tax planning strategies for high-net-worth individuals and affiliated businesses
- Support trust, estate, and gift-related filings and planning activities
- Monitor tax law changes and communicate their impact to ownership and leadership
- Prepare tax projections, multi-entity estimates, and year-end planning models
- Coordinate quarterly and annual estimated tax calculations and payments
- Maintain documentation and tracking of tax positions, deadlines, and planning strategies
- Work closely with external CPAs, attorneys, and wealth advisors to ensure aligned planning and compliance
- Support cash flow forecasting, net-worth reporting, and entity-level financial coordination
- Review work prepared by internal staff and third-party providers for accuracy and completeness
- Establish workflows, controls, and processes to support a scalable internal tax function
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through technology, automation, and better reporting
- Provide guidance on entity structuring, restructures, and transaction-related tax matters
- Assist with special projects related to investments, acquisitions, or business changes
- Handle highly sensitive financial and personal information with discretion and professionalism
- CPA required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of progressive tax experience
- Deep experience with high-net-worth individuals, trusts, partnerships, and closely held businesses
- Strong technical knowledge of multi-entity, multi-state, and investment-driven tax structures
