Kiewit Foundations Co. is a full‑service geotechnical foundation contractor operating across North America. We provide a wide range of specialty foundation construction for structural and ground‑improvement solutions, including drilled shafts, micro piles, driven piles, auger cast‑in‑place piles, full displacement piles, soil mixing, and more. Our integrated experience spans transportation, power, water/wastewater, mining, building, industrial, oil & gas, and chemical markets.
LocationThis role requires 3–5 days of travel per week to support projects across our districts.
Responsibilities- Manage the company environmental health and safety programs at the project and district level, driving a safety‑oriented approach to work.
- Compile, analyze, and interpret occupational illness and accident statistical data at the project and district level; recommend process and product safety features that reduce employee exposure to chemical, physical, and biological hazards.
- Routinely inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards and ensure safety regulation compliance.
- Monitor the workforce for unsafe behaviors and coach employees on correct practices when observed.
- Develop environmental health and safety training materials, including manuals, brochures, and PowerPoint presentations.
- Create a paperwork management system to track training records for all safety initiatives conducted personally or by outside consultants/vendors.
- Interpret safety regulations for the project.
- Coordinate and present safety training to support client requirements, including new hire orientation, fall protection, confined space, lockout/tagout, and repertory.
- Interface with Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) officials/inspectors during site visits.
- Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong work ethic; good interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to act independently with little supervision and work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Proficient with standard laptop and office software.
- Capacity to perform duties in varying work environments, including diverse weather conditions and terrain.
- Knowledge of construction safety and current Federal and OSHA requirements preferred.
- Certification as a Safety Professional or Emergency Medical Technician desirable.
- Regular, reliable attendance.
- Work productively to meet deadlines.
- Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others.
- Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and policies.
- Work during normal operating hours to complete tasks within deadlines. Willingness to work overtime and weekends as required.
- Flexibility to work at various locations and conditions as needed.
