As an Accountant in Monroe, you’ll process invoices, track payments, and make the numbers behave. This role is perfect for those who enjoy tidying records, color‑coded spreadsheets, and checking things off the list.
What's Required to Thrive Here- High School Diploma required
- Some college coursework in business or accounting preferred
- Experience with general business accounting practices
- Experience using billing or accounts receivable software
- Experience reconciling accounts receivable and bank accounts
- Strong bookkeeping skills required
- Payroll processing experience preferred
- Experience providing administrative support in a mid-size to large organization preferred
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage financial documentation accurately
- Learn and utilize accounts receivable (billing) software to process monthly service billing
- Perform all required tasks associated with monthly billing for delivered services
- Monitor annual individual service budgets and ensure required pre‑authorizations are obtained for current and future billing
- Collaborate closely with staff to ensure billing compliance for each service recipient
- Compile, enter, and process billing data for payment
- Reconcile billing claims to ensure timely and accurate payment
- Create and maintain monthly audit files with required supporting documentation for each service recipient
- Ensure all billing, receivables, and audit files are current within 30 days of the month‑end service delivery
- Reconcile shared and personal fund accounts for program participants
- Create and maintain annual fiscal‑year audit files
- Attend training sessions to maintain and improve billing and accounting knowledge
- Assist with payroll processing as needed
- Provide general administrative support to the Human Resources department
