Our 7-bed unit, with an integrated OR and PACU, supports 3040 deliveries each month and provides comprehensive care for obstetric needs—from triage and labor to surgical delivery, recovery, postpartum, newborn nursery, and gynecologic care.

Our 7-bed unit, with an integrated OR and PACU, supports 3040 deliveries each month and provides comprehensive care for a wide range of patients and obstetric needs—from triage and labor to surgical delivery, recovery, postpartum, newborn nursery, and gynecologic care. Our team thrives on prioritization, professionalism, and collaboration to provide safe, patient-centered care.
Staffing ratios are guided by patient acuity and volume: 1:1 in active labor and OR/recovery, 2:1 for patients on magnesium therapy, and 3:1 for couplet care. - Responsible for handling the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during obstetrical operations performed in the Operating Room located in the Labor and Delivery unit. Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and maintains the sterile field. Possesses the knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and supports ongoing sterile technique. Performs patient care duties under the direction of a registered nurse.
- MINIMUM
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
High School diploma or GED equivalent. - Minimum Experience
Required:
Graduate from a Surgical Technologist training program OR one year previous operating room experience as a Surgical/Delivery Room Technologist OR three years of experience providing direct patient care in a clinical setting. - Minimum Licensure/Certification Required By Law: BLS.
- Additional Qualifications:
NRP preferred. Preferred completion of a fetal monitoring workshop and orientation to learn surgical asepsis.
