The Walton County Environmental Health Office is seeking a detail‑oriented and dependable clerical support professional to perform a variety of administrative and clerical functions in support of Environmental Health operations. This position requires reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment while working alongside an existing Environmental Health Clerk to support office workflow and assist Environmental Health Specialist.
As Administrative Support within the Walton Environmental Health at the Georgia Department of Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.
- Manage and maintain Environmental Health records and files
- Purchase office and program supplies
- Assist with client management, including gathering appropriate information
- Receive payments, prepare invoices, and collect funds in accordance with established procedures
- Provide general clerical support to Environmental Health Specialists
- Answer and route telephone calls appropriately
- Greet clients and direct visitors as needed
- Process incoming and outgoing mail
Qualifications:
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other clerical staff while following District policies and procedures
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency with clerical and administrative processes
- Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
- Customer service‑oriented with a professional demeanor
High school diploma/GED and two (2) years of general office or administrative experience.
