Senior Manager, Inventory Control and Production Objective

Effectively plans, directs and coordinates workflow. Through delegation of responsibilities and assignment of duties, manages employees to achieve efficient and economical storage, handling and distribution functions, conforming to established goals to accomplish corporate profit, growth and investment return. Manage and ensure accuracy of inventory, production, and receiving for all Victorinox product categories within the Distribution Center.

Scope

Responsible for the day-to-day operations within the distribution center, ensuring alignment with company policies, budgets, and performance goals. Oversees inventory management, including cycle counts, consolidation, and control. Develops and maintains operational guidelines and financial controls. Collaborates with internal partners, manages material slotting for efficient order fulfillment, and directs all activities related to inventory control and production.

Primary Responsibilities Inventory Control
  • Plan, schedule and manage cycle count inventories in accordance with requirements as defined by Finance and Auditors
  • Keeping costs under control, which means minimizing shrinkage by ensuring that inventory is not stolen, destroyed, lost or counted incorrectly
  • Organize and maintain warehouse for efficient material storage and handling; maintain labeling system on each stock item, classifying, labeling and warehousing all inventory
  • Troubleshoot, investigate and reconcile inventory issues
  • Communicating with all department managers on inventory levels and slotting
  • Manage the daily Receiving activities in order to maximize efficiencies and meet goals and objectives
Production
  • Effectively plans, directs and coordinates production.
  • Perform Quality Control audits on all Production Orders throughout the production process and prior to shipping.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of supplies for all equipment (pad printing, inkjet printing, laser engraving, standard engraving, coating and assembly).
  • Complies with customer needs and specific requirements for the fulfillment of orders.
Team Management
  • Creates master daily schedule of deployment of employees based on workload mandates. This involves gathering information to plan daily operation and schedules, and anticipating needs for people, equipment, space, and services to ensure objectives, product quality and services are met.
  • Maintains and improves the effectiveness of the company's employee relations activities and implementation of HR policies, i.e. employee appraisals and union contract administration.
  • Maintain effective operations through organizing, scheduling and training of personnel to meet turnaround times and compliance requirements
  • Maintain and control all labor costs (basic headcounts), overtime hours and other related expenses to assure an efficient and least cost operation
Additional Responsibilities
  • Manages the preparation of reports for corporate information and prepares
  • Continuously identifies, implements and, as appropriate, recommends procedures that will reduce costs, gain efficiencies and ensure safe operations.
  • Effective communications with all departments needed to ensure an efficient workflow process within the Distribution Center.
  • Review of equipment on a regular basis for efficiencies and return on investment
  • Assist other DC areas as necessary
  • Other duties as required contributing to the overall objectives of the Distribution Center
Desired Skills/Requirements
  • Minimum 5+ years of current relevant experience, distribution and production experience preferred.
  • BA/BS with focus on Business Administration and/or Materials Management
  • Strong supervisory, organizational, time management, motivational and communication skills.
  • Strong relationship management skills (working with and through those which are not direct reports).
  • Ability to analyze quantitative data and present related reports
  • High aptitude for problem solving and trouble shooting.

  • Computer experience: SAP, Microsoft Word and Excel
