Part-Time Music Educational Representative - Monroe, CT

Job Description

Ensemble Schools is seeking a fun and professional Instrument Rental Representative to work on a part-time basis for Creative Music Center in Monroe, CT, named a NAMM Top 100 Dealer, 15 years running. This staff member will serve as the account manager and primary point of contact for local band, orchestra, and music directors in Fairfield County, CT.

The desired hours for this position are 25-30 hours per week, approximately between 10 a.m.–6 p.m., with occasional weekend flexibility for seasonal recruitment opportunities.

• Outreach to local band and orchestra programs in schools, community arts organizations, and non-profit organizations.
• Fostering and retaining relationships with the musical community in Fairfield County, CT and surrounding areas.
• Community outreach in the form of “instrument try-out” and “instrument petting-zoo” events and other outreach opportunities to recruit student interest.
• Instrument inventory management, accounting for the instrument rental program and generating proposals and quotes for schools as needed with appropriate follow-up and delivery.
• Managing the success of the school music program at Creative Music Center.

The successful candidate will be an organized, motivated self-starter with a strong customer service and sales mindset. A background in Instrumental Music Education and knowledge of the function and pedagogy of multiple instruments, as well as experience playing multiple instruments, are a must. A background in sales, recruitment, and/or administration is strongly desired but not required.

Pay will be commensurate with experience, in the range of $19–22 per hour.
