Cook​/Chef

Based in Monmouth, as Cook, you will be responsible for the day to day preparation of homely high-quality food in an efficient, hygienic and creative manner.

Job hours will be 7:00 to 17:00–18:00 with every other weekend off and no split shifts.

• Prepare and cook a variety of fresh nutritious meals and other refreshments, ensuring a nutritional and balanced diet
• Ensure the food is presented to a high creative standard
• Ensuring high levels of hygiene, health and safety and cleanliness throughout the kitchen and food store areas
• Make sure that all food at point of serving is of the highest quality
• Constantly check the quality of the food being served to family members
• Control stock rotation to ensure the kitchen and food stores are always well stocked
• Prepare a range of delicious soft meals, putting the joy back into food, designed for those with swallowing difficulties

• Food and Hygiene Level 2
• Preferred minimum 2 years’ experience working in a commercial kitchen
• HACCP training desirable
• Working as part of a team
• Previous care home experience an advantage but not essential
