LINE CLEARANCE FOREMAN Objectives
- To maintain the electrical distribution right-of-way in accordance with the Cooperative's specifications and procedures.
- To respond to the members' needs in a timely manner and promote goodwill between the Cooperative and the member.
- To promote safety in accordance with the policies and procedures in order to maintain safe working habits and conditions.
- To promote teamwork, professionalism and positive attitudes among the right-of-way personnel by setting an example in the areas through words and deeds.

Line Clearance Arborist II;
Line Clearance Arborist I;
Line Clearance Groundman
High school education or equivalent required. Prior supervisory or leadership training is required. Must be a qualified Line Clearance Arborist. TCIA (Tree Care Industry Association) Certified Tree Safety Professional, acquired within one (1) year of hire date. Will be required to obtain the NRECA Supervisory certificate within two (2) years.
ExperienceMinimum of five (5) years' experience in the Line Clearance progression. May consider equivalent experience at the Cooperative or another electric utility or tree service company. Experience in leading other right-of-way personnel is required. A minimum of two (2) years is required in this position to become proficient in the job and eligible for promotion.
Job KnowledgeMust have working knowledge of equipment and tools used in operation of clearing and re-clearing, trimming, bush hogging, climbing and operative heavy equipment to maintain the Cooperative's right-of-way. Must be knowledgeable of the Cooperative's right-of-way specifications. Use and care of PPE. Must know the Cooperative's safety rules and policies. Must be proficient on mapping system and computer use.
Abilities & SkillsMust be skilled in operating and maintaining equipment used in position. Ability to teach right-of-way personnel the duties and responsibilities of their job and promote safety. Must have ability to deal with members and public in a courteous and tactful manner in difficult situations. Must possess and maintain a valid SC commercial driver's license with air brake and combination endorsements. Ability to maintain Line Clearance Arborist certification.
Must have the ability to climb trees. Must have leadership skills and ability to motivate people. Computer skills to operate the mapping system.
Outside job under varying weather conditions. Some climbing, stooping, bending and lifting of heavy objects up to 100 pounds required. Subject to calls at night and on weekends in emergency situations.
