AboutThe Role
The Senior Project Manager is the liaison between Cleveland Electric / Mechanical Services and its construction customer, the general contractor or the owner. As such, the Senior Project Manager is the primary point of contact between Cleveland and its customer. In addition to meeting or exceeding customer expectations, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that Cleveland makes a satisfactory profit on all its work.
One of the single most important responsibilities of the Senior Project Manager is to ensure that Cleveland is fully and timely paid for its services. In this role, you will need to be experienced with hyper-scale data center projects. The Senior Project Manager should be able to manage or run any project under any circumstances. We are counting on this person to be able to adapt and learn and manage any scope of work given to them.
Functions
- Project Execution Strategy:
Based on the contract, develops and implements the overall strategy for the execution of the project. - Communication:
Represents Cleveland towards the customer; controls and manages this interface and cultivates the relationship. - Project Organization:
Sets up and secures the necessary resources for the execution of the project. Organizes the project team and ensures that the team members have clearly identified roles & responsibilities. - Performance Management:
Establishes & constantly monitors key performances indicators (KPI). Takes action and makes decisions to secure financial, time, quality, and safety performance to maximize project goals & achievements. - Contract:
Has extensive experience reviewing contract language. Recognizes favorable/unfavorable clauses and manages this risk throughout the project. - Pre-Construction Budgeting:
Participates in Pre-Construction phases of the projects to help establish budgets. - Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety Management:
Establishes, implements and monitors the Project Quality Plan, Procedures, EHS Plan. Ensures best compliance with specification at lowest final cost. - People Management:
Builds, leads and coaches a committed Project team; defines project goals and objectives, evaluates performance, and provides development plans to management. - Project Planning:
Develops and monitors the Master Time Schedule and manages project float to ensure timely completion. - Design and Construction Oversight:
Responsible for all phases (planning, scheduling and managing) of the design and construction process of highly complex construction and/or refurbishment projects, generally in the range of $20M-$100M or more in cumulative budgetary responsibility.
- Experience as a Project Manager on hyper-scale data center projects.
- Engineering or Construction Management Degree or applicable Field/Electrician experience. Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Typically 10+ years of experience in the Electrical/Mechanical Construction Industry with 5-10 years of leading and managing Electrical/Mechanical Construction activities.
