BERKELEY ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE, INC. COLLEGE STUDENT - INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY INTERN POSITION SUMMARY

Internship positions are available from May 2026 through August 2026, depending on applicant's availability.

To provide efficient and effective support services to the IT and various departments within Berkeley Electric Cooperative, Inc.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist Technicians and/or Director of IT Operations and Cybersecurity in supporting the Cooperative's various systems.
  • Assist in providing excellent customer support of end‑user devices and software. This includes Office Applications (Word, Excel, etc.) as well as laptop and desktop computers.
  • Duties may include assisting with asset management and configuration, deployment and removal from service. This includes supporting all districts with hands‑on, supervised support of our internal customers and their equipment, including but not limited to PC, Printer, Phone and Mobile Devices.
  • All duties as assigned within the parameters of all applicable federal, state, and local labor and safety laws and/or regulations.
  • All positions are required to participate in weekly group meetings with other interns. May involve special assignments and field trips.
EDUCATION

Must be currently enrolled in college, preferably in an Information Technology related field.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Preferred if successful candidate has experience with supporting end‑user hardware and software.
  • Must have good general office and computer skills, be detail oriented, reliable, efficient, conscientious and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must have organizational skills.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively and in a friendly and personable manner with employees and the general public.
  • Promptness is extremely important. Must be a team player.
