Description

• Qualified and performs according to specified procedures and techniques
• Ability to interpret drawings and other documents
• Working knowledge of fixtures and setup parameters
• Verify that the equipment to be used for the work is appropriate for the use with the procedure and has the capability to meet the applicable requirements
• Inspects and certifies work performed to specified standards and completes necessary documentation
• Use of conventional and precision measuring devices
• Operate hoist and crane in a safe and knowledgeable manner
• Set up and operate grinding machine and related tools that remove excess material or burrs from surfaces, sharpen edges or corners, or buff, hone, or polish metal work pieces
• Perform receiving inspection of materials and components, assuring compliance with codes, specifications, and industry standards
• Perform inspection of in-process fabrication and completed work utilizing inspection and test plans
• Monitor existing processes and track nonconformities to develop preventive and corrective measures
• Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task
• Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency
• Performs additional duties as assigned

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Prefer minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in an occupational function
• Able to read and interpret drawings, routings, use simple math to perform basic calculations, and use basic hand-held measuring devices
• Good, punctual attendance
• Physical requirements – person must be able stand for the entire shift (up to 10 hours).
• Use heavy grinders at waist level for long periods of time.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 250 pounds while being assisted by hoists, slings, forklift or other human or mechanical assistance.
• Use stomach and lower back muscles to support the body for long periods without getting tired.
• Adjust body movements or equipment controls to keep pace with speed changes of moving objects.
• Be physically active for long periods without getting tired or out of breath.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

• Repetitively bend, stretch, twist, or reach out.
• Bend or twist their body.
• Be capable of reacting quickly to any emergency safety alerts.
