Join to apply for the Pharmacy Technician / Pharm Tech Apprenticeship role s position offers entry into a patient‑centric pharmacy environment and a pathway to Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification through Walgreens’ “earn while you learn” apprenticeship program.

$16.50/hr - $20.00/hr

• Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy and perform other Pharmacy Department duties as company policies dictate.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and ensure accurate entry. If PTCB certified, coach other technicians and cashiers in system and expense management.
• Provide a distinctive, delightful customer experience: greet customers, offer assistance, resolve issues, and share best practices.
• Perform pharmacy operations: count and pour medications, verify dosages, check for interactions, assist with prescription scheduling, and maintain workflow.
• Report prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist, adhere to quality improvement procedures, and comply with Good Faith Dispensing policy.
• Process manual claims for third‑party prescription services and perform clerical duties as assigned.
• Support inventory management: ordering, unpacking, checking, storing shipments, and documenting overages or shortages.
• Assist with clinical services: collect and label blood/urine samples, support clinic coordination, and provide outreach to the local medical community.
• Maintain a clean, stocked pharmacy department and handle customer cash registers responsibly.
• Complete special assignments and other tasks as needed.

• Earning and maintaining PTCB certification through the designated training program or state‑required certification.
• Attending manager‑requested training and acquiring continuing education credits to keep knowledge current in pharmacy practice.

• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

• At least six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Strong math skills for accurate prescription filling.
• Good computer skills.
• Knowledge of store inventory control.
• PTCB certification.
